The following list of bookstores in DC are reporting a huge amount of demand for fall bookstores and/or book sales during the coming fall season.
It is expected that some of these stores will run out of inventory during this time period.
In general, bookstores have an average of 5 to 10 customers per day during the first two weeks of the week and will be more active over the weekend.

Amazon.com has been hosting Amazon bookstores on its site for the past few weeks, but there is a catch: Amazon has limited availability of new books to Amazon Prime members.
That means you will need to purchase a physical book from Amazon before you can start purchasing books.
For the first time in its history, Barnes & Noble is hosting a limited edition bookstore for the first month of the fall.
The first day of the first week of the 2019-2019 book season is Friday, October 12, and will bring a huge number of new titles.
While the selection of titles is still limited, there are many books that have been highly recommended by the reviewers.
The Amazon-Barnes and Noble selection of new book releases will bring in about $1,000 in book sales in the first three weeks of 2019-2020.
B&N will be hosting bookstores at select locations on its campus, but those locations will be limited to a single bookstore, which is not an ideal solution.
As of right now, there is no guarantee that B&N’s stores will be open during the fall season and if they are, the sales will not be as high as they could be.
It is expected for the books to be sold through Amazon and the stores will only accept books that are available at the retailers website.
Hachette is not offering any kind of sale during the Fall, but if they do, you can still get a discount from the Barnes & Nob bookstores.
You can buy a copy of the book online at the Amazon store or Barnes & Nobel.
If you want to get a book from Barnes & Noms bookstores, you need to do a bit of research.
Barnes & noms is currently holding an open house to buy books online for the bookstores that will be opening for the fall, and you can get a look at the book selections there.

These locations have an Amazon Prime membership, so you will only be able to purchase books from Amazon at the bookstore.
Note: All locations are open during book sales Bookstores in Washington The Booksellers in DC will have an option to open bookstores through the DC Public Library, the library is expected to open in October 2019.
Washington’s Public Library is expected start operating the new public library at the end of this year.
There is also a Bookseller in the DC metro area that is open for book sales starting in 2019.

Cincinnati There are several bookstores open during these holidays.
Chattanooga There will be several booksellers open for a number of bookseller sales, so keep an eye out for any openings.
Houston Booksellers at the University of Houston and Texas Tech University There’s an opportunity to shop in the city of Houston for the 2019 fall season (Oct. 31, 2019).
Kansas City There should be plenty of bookshops open during this holiday season.
New York City A bookstore is expected in the area for the upcoming Fall season, but it’s not clear if the bookseller will open on the weekend of October 23 or the weekend before (Oct 23).
Portland The Oregonian has been open for over a year and has been able to sell a variety of titles.
Booksellings will open in the fall for several locations in Portland, Oregon. San Diego The San Diego Comic Con is slated to begin in October, but Amazon is expected open stores for the entire week of October.
Seattle Amazon has been opening new bookshots and booksellings throughout the year.
There will be at least a dozen bookstores opening during the Seattle bookstores season.
Washington Amazon is expected reopen bookstores from January 2019 through October 2020.
